“Street to Star Finale Awards Top Prizes to Emerging Thai Talents”

Bangkok, September 12 – The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), through the Department of Social Development and Welfare, concluded the grand finale of the “Street to Star: From Streets to Stardom” talent competition at CentralWorld, drawing a vibrant crowd and powerful performances. More than 55 solo and group finalists delivered their best on stage before a panel of distinguished judges, receiving high praise for embodying the spirit of “creative power from the streets to the big stage.”

The competition featured two categories: solo and group.Solo category: Winner received 60,000 THB, 1st runner-up 40,000 THB, and 2nd runner-up 20,000 THB. Group category: Winner received 120,000 THB, 1st runner-up 80,000 THB, and 2nd runner-up 40,000 THB. Winners were also awarded specially designed trophies: Champion trophies were presented with the gracious of H.E.General Surayud Chulanont, President of the Privy Council. 1st runner-up trophies were presented with the kind courtesy of Mr.Varawut Silpa-archa Minister of Social Development and Human Security. 2nd runner-up trophies were presented with the kind courtesy of Mr.Anukul Peedkaew Permanent Secretary of Social Development and Human Security.

The trophies were designed around a golden treble clef motif, symbolizing the artistic journey, with a spiral structure representing progress and determination, crowned by a shining star — a metaphor for dreams, recognition, and achievement.
Competition Results, Group Category Winner,PK.Fusion Band (Ms. Pimchanok Temjai and Mr. Wattana Thongkham) performing Ain’t No Sunshine received 120,000 THB with trophy, 1st Runner-up: Tomon Band performing their original song Bak Siang Noi (members: Jiranthanin Phetsatcha, Natthaphat Chaloemsin, Pannawit Naowabut, and Keeta Warinburi) recieved 80,000 THB with trophy. 2nd Runner-up: Red Ribbon performing Yark Jer (members: Phakkaphon Mutra-is, Nakharat Sonsoo, Lewis Ravin Cappuccio, Ratan Hildebrand, and Chayaphiphat Niyomtham) Recived 40,000 THB with trophy.

For Solo Category, Winner: Ms. Tatpicha Kittiphanankul performing Wad Wai received 60,000 THB with trophy. 1st Runner-up: Ms. Wanlapa Lakornphon performing Sao Phetchaburi received 40,000 THB with trophy. 2nd Runner-up: Miss Supasuda Rodkhoom performing Puen Rak recieved 20,000 THB with trophy. Special Cultural Award: Rong-Ngaeng Suan Kawee Folk Ensemble from Krabi Province received 10,000 THB.

Mr. Kantapong Rangsesawang, Director-General of the Department of Social Development and Welfare, emphasized that the “Street to Star” initiative was born under the framework of the Begging Control Act B.E. 2559 (2016) and the mission to enhance the quality of life of performers. The project aims to uplift individuals who rely on music, art, and performance as livelihoods, providing them with recognition and pathways to sustainable careers.

Currently, more than 15,000 registered street performers are active across Thailand, with over one-third being amateur and professional musicians. This competition created a platform not only to showcase their skills but also to inspire society to see the cultural and economic value of Thai talent.
